Issue about the runtime of the recurring scheduled reports
The BMC Analytics for BSM product runs scheduled reports once a day at a particular time as determined by the recurring schedule. However, when these reports run in any of the following SAP Enterprise environments, after the transition from Standard Time to Daylight Saving Time, a defect causes daily recurrences to permanently run one hour later than they did previously.
- SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1
- SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise BI 4.0
For example, a daily instance that used to run at 2:30 am now runs at 3:30 am. This issue occurs in daily, weekly, and monthly recurrences as well as hourly instances that run every two hours or more.
SAP BusinessObjects has tracked this known issue with issue ID number ADAPT01720082 (KBA 1986781).
Workaround
Use the following workaround to resolve this issue.
Download and run the Extended Daylight Saving Time tool (rescheduler script)
You can download and run the Extended Daylight Saving Time (EDST) tool (rescheduler script) that is attached to the SAP Knowledge Base Article 1448881. The EDST tool reschedules the instances by adjusting the time accordingly.
To run the EDST tool
- Stop the job servers.
- Double-click the EDST Tool v1.3.hta file.
- In the Enterprise Instance Rescheduler window, change the value in the System Name field to the name of the CMS.
- Enter the name of the administrator in the User Name field and the administrator's password in the Password field, the Authentication Type and then click LogOn.
- Click List All Recurring Instances and then click Select All.
- Note the value in the Schedule Selected Recurring Instances field. This value must be 1 hour and later.
Click Reschedule Selected Recurring Instances, select all the instances again, and select the values as 1 hour and earlier from the drop-down menu.
- Click Reschedule Selected Recurring Instances.
- Restart the job servers.
