User roles


The BMC Analytics for Business Service Management product is designed for the following user roles:

  • Service Manager — A person who is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of one or more IT services. The term service manager is also used to mean any manager within the IT service provider.
  • Chief Information Officer (CIO) — A person who is responsible for the overall strategy and bottom-line performance of an IT organization
  • ITIL Process Owner — A person who is responsible for ensuring that all activities defined within the process are undertaken. The process owner is responsible for sponsoring a process and taking ownership of process design, change management, and continual improvement.

The information in this documentation portal is also provided for the product administrator, who installs, configures, and administers this product for its intended users.
