Performing the installation

To install BMC Analytics for Business Service Management, you perform the following tasks:

Before you begin

Perform the following tasks before you begin installing the product:

  • For UNIX or Linux, set the environment variables.
  • Download the installation files.
  • Ensure that SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise is installed on the host on which you want to install BMC Analytics for BSM.
  • Follow the prerequisites documented in the SAP BusinessObjects KB article numbers 1952120 and 1691555 available on the help.sap.com site.
  • Complete the installation worksheet.
  • If you plan to install using BMC Atrium Single Sign-On authentication, because the installation utility installs a new version 6.0 Apache Tomcat server, stop and disable the Tomcat service used by SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise. If you do not stop the service, and the installation detects that port number 8080 is in use, it will pick a different port number for the version 6.0 Tomcat server.
