Configuring the hypertext launch to BMC Change Management

This procedure is required to enable the hyperlinks to the BMC Remedy Mid Tier from the Change Management reports. The hyperlinks in these reports redirect to a BMC Remedy Mid Tier page, and the user is required to provide the appropriate logon credentials. If you have a single sign-on environment, users will not need to provide any credentials, and the related Change Management page is displayed.

Use the following steps to update the AR Server and Web Server fields in the ITSM universe.

To modify properties for Change Management objects

  1. Launch the Universe Design tool by clicking Start > All Programs > SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0 > SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Client Tools > Universe Design Tool.
  2. Import the ITSM universe.
  3. Navigate to the BMC Analytics > Change Management > Change Management Reporting Objects folder.
  4. Using the following table as a guide, modify the properties of the objects listed by right-clicking on the object, selecting Object Properties from the menu, and updating the value in the Select field:

    Object

    Value

    AR Server

BMC Remedy AR System server host name in your environment, using the following format: ARHostname

    Web Server

BMC Remedy Mid Tier server host name in your environment, using the following format: http://<midTierHostName:port>

    Note

If BMC Remedy AR System is part of a server group, the AR Server value must be the server that handles users' requests for the cross-launch feature. If that function is distributed across multiple AR System servers, and you use a load balancer, specify the load balancer name for the AR Server value.

  5. Save the ITSM universe.
  6. Select File > Export.
  7. In the Export Universe window, select the ITSM universe, and click OK.
  8. Close the Universe Design tool.
