Viewing a report

This section describes how to view the BMC Analytics for BSM reports. The reports are best viewed at a resolution of 1280 x 1024.

Note

When you open the reports the first time, sample data is displayed. Click the Refresh button to replace the sample data with data from your data source.

To view reports

  1. Log on to the BI launch pad.
     For more information, see Launching-BMC-Analytics-for-BSM.
  2. Navigate to the Documents tab.
  3. In the Folders menu, expand Public Folders and then BMC Analytics for BSM or the folder where your customized reports reside.
  4. Expand the BMC Analytics for BSM subfolder or or the folder where your customized reports reside.
     The report categories within the folder are displayed.
  5. Click a report category folder to display the reports within it.
     The list of reports for the category appears in the workspace panel.
  6. Click the title of the report that you want to view.
     The report is displayed in the workspace panel.
  7. Perform one or more of the following actions:
    • To view the subreport, click the subreport hyperlink.
       The subreport appears. To return to the parent report, click the Back to reportName hyperlink at the top of the subreport (for example, Back to Staleness Analysis of Discovery Data).
    • If the report is enabled for drilling down on a specific report column, click the Start Drill Mode button in the top-left corner of the Header panel and click anywhere in the cell containing the drill button to drill down. The drill-down information appears on a new page. For more information, see Drill-down-reports.
    • To drill up to a specific data value, click the drill-up button in the column cell.     • If the report contains tabs, click each of the tabs to view details related to the main report. For more information, see Tab-reports.

To view the sample reports

  1. Log on to the BI launch pad.
     For more information, see Launching-BMC-Analytics-for-BSM.
  2. Navigate to the Documents tab.
  3. In the Folders menu, expand Public Folders > BMC Analytics for BSM and then the Extended Analysis Samples folder where the sample reports reside.
    The sample reports for the category appear in the workspace panel.
  4. Click either the BMC Helpdesk Dashboards or Incident View Set title to display the sample reports.
    The report is displayed in the workspace panel.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
