Extended Analysis Samples

The Extended Analysis Samples folder contains the sample reports for the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform.

Introduction

Since the new SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform offers a new set of additional reporting options (SAP Dashboards and SAP Explorer), to help you understand the additional value that these reporting options can provide, BMC Software has included the following reference samples drawn from the underlying BMC Analytics for BSM data model:

  • BMC Helpdesk Dashboard
  • Incident View Set

You can use these samples as a starting point for creating more complex and relevant reporting and analysis capabilities while leveraging the underlying BMC Analytics for BSM data models. For more information about how to view these sample reports, see Viewing a report.

These Extended Analysis capabilities are provided as a licensing entitlement option. BMC Analytics for BSM is focused on employing and supporting the use of the Web Intelligence reporting technology. You may use the other reporting capabilities available with the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform based on your own discretion, but they are not required for using BMC Analytics for BSM. The support for the use of the Extended Analysis capabilities is provided through the BMC Customization Policy.

Note

  • The BMC Helpdesk Dashboard sample report can be used only with SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 Service Pack 6 or later and with SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 Service Pack 1 or later.
  • The Incident View Set sample report can be used only with SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 Service Pack 1 or later.

License information

If you are using the OEM licensing of SAP BusinessObjects available with BMC Analytics for BSM, you can view and analyze the data with these reporting options using the Dashboards and Analytics Base License Add-on user license. If you want to create and maintain the analysis produced with these non-web intelligence formats, you need a Dashboards and Analytics Premium License Add-on for each user that will be engaged in authoring-related activities.

Note

If you are using the BMC Analytics for BSM product with your own separately obtained and licensed version of SAP BusinessObjects, the licensing considerations may be different. BMC recommends that you consult with SAP to ensure that the SAP licensing model offers the ability to utilize the other reporting options referenced above.
