Database views used in the ITSM universe

The ITSM universe is built on database views in the BMC Remedy AR System application layer, not on the base tables in the BMC Remedy AR System data schema. This approach is necessary because the base tables have different numbering for each instance and, therefore, different names for each instance. Native database drivers are used to improve performance and support external joins.

To improve performance, some of the derived tables, like D_ASSET_CONTRACTS, have been moved to the back-end database as database views. The following new database views related to BMC Analytics for BSM are created:

  • ANA_ASSET_CONTRACTS_VW
  • ANA_VIRTUAL_SYSTEMS_VW
  • ANA_SR_BUSINESSSERVICE_VW
  • ANA_BASEELEMENT_VW
