Changing the case template reference in the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog items


The catalog items that are enabled in BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog refer to the case templates from the BMC Sample Human Resource line of business that is provided out of the box. As a service catalog administrator, you must make sure that the catalog items from the custom line of business refer to the corresponding case templates in that line business and not to the case templates from BMC Sample Human Resource line of business.

Before you begin

Make sure that you have the GUID of the activated case template from the target line of business. Learn how to get the GUID in Reviewing-and-copying-the-content-use-case-in-BMC-Helix-Business-Workflows.

To change the case template reference in the catalog items

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog as a Service catalog administrator user.
  2. Click Service Management.
  3. Open the copied use case. 
  4. Click Edit for the Workflow.
  5. In Workflow and Questions, click Edit for Questions.
  6. In the Questions Designer for the questionnaire, change the case template to the case template from your custom line of business by completing the following steps:
    1. Click Edit.
    2. Select Custom Value from the Type list.
    3. Paste the GUID of the case template that you copied from BMC Helix Business Workflows in the Default Value field in the following format: $(<GUID value>). Example: $(AGGQJHRAMJCMARG4VX2RG4VX2HJ58).
  7. Save the catalog item.
