Enabling Human Resources portal and reviewing default services
To enable the Human Resources portal from BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced
- Log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced as an administrator.
- In the URL, type admin after /dwp/.
- Click
, and select Configuration. - In the left-hand navigation, click Application Features.
- To enable the Human Resources portal page to be displayed in the top menu, select the checkbox for Studio (expose pages to end users).
- To enable enhanced studio page capabilities, select the Use enhanced catalog section and tile framework checkbox.
- In the left-hand navigation, click Studio.
- On the Customize your workplaces page, click Actions for the HR Portal page, and select Duplicate to copy the studio page.
- Click Actions for the newly copied page and select Edit.
- Make the following required changes, and save the page:
- Name of the HR Portal page in the top menu
- Location of the name in the top menu
- Background images
- To publish the page, click Save and Publish.
- Repeat the steps for the Work from Home page.
The Work from Home sample page is provided out of the box for users to configure information for the work from home use case. Users can access this page by opening the Making working from home a pleasure section in the HR Portal page. By default, the Work from Home page is selected to be displayed in the top menu bar. We recommend that you clear the option, because it is an internal page which is called from the HR Portal page. - To modify the sequence of the top menu items, click Navigation Manager.
- In the Navigation Builder, change the sequence of the top menu items, and click Save.
Where to go from here
After you've enabled the Human Resources portal and reviewed the service requests for your line of business, a service catalog administrator must activate the catalog items displayed in the Human Resources portal. Learn more in Activating catalog items.
