Activating catalog items


The out-of-the-box catalog items that correspond to the out-of-the-box service requests are available in the Draft status in BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog. As a service catalog administrator, you must publish each catalog item separately and make them Active to use them as service requests in the Human Resources portal.

The following image shows the process to get started with HR Service Management and the current step that you are on:

To activate the catalog items in BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog as a service catalog administrator.
  2. From the top menu, select Services > Services
  3. Select a service from the list, such as Maternity Leave Request - HRSM.
  4. Select Actions > Open.
  5. Click the three dots icon, and click Publish, and then Close.
  6. Repeat the steps for all out-of-the-box catalog items that you want to display on the HR Portal page.

You can now raise a request in the HR Portal to understand how a case is automatically created in BMC Helix Business Workflows.
