Managing Relationships
The Relationships feature of the Portfolio Management app allows creation of custom relationships along with the syncing of OOTB relationships. For more information, see Relationship Overview.
In this topic, we will discuss how to view and manage relationships.
To view a Relationship
- Log in to Portfolio Management application.
- Open the record (Idea, Demand, Project, Sprint, Phase, Task, Program, Portfolio and Requirement), where you want to view the relationships.
- Go to the Related tab, select the Entities toggle.
This should show related entities of the current record in a table. - Relationships can be internal or external. To view entities that are internal to the system such as idea, demand, project, sprint, phase, task, program, portfolio and requirement and are related to the current record select Internal from the toggle. Alternatively, to view related entities that are external to Portfolio Management such as incident or entities from third party apps, select External from the toggle.
To create a relationship
- Log in to Portfolio Management application.
- Open the record (Idea, Demand, Project, Sprint, Phase, Task, Program, Portfolio and Requirement), where you want to create the new relationship.
- Go to the Related tab, select the Entities toggle and click New.
On the Relate Entity blade, select the entity type you want to relate to with the current record and select an record with from the table that appears to relate the two records. Enter the values for the following fields:

Relationship Type
Select a Relationship Type that defines how the selected record from the table must be related to the current record. For more details on Relationship type see Relationship Overview.
Value
This field allows maintaining a value associated to the relationship.
Comment
Enter a suitable comment that describes the relationship.
- Click Save.
To edit a relationship
- Log in to the Portfolio Management application.
- Open the record (Idea, Demand, Project, Sprint, Phase, Task, Program, Portfolio and Requirement), where you want to create the new relationship.
- Go to the Related tab, select the Entities toggle and click on the id of the related entity to view the details of the relationship.
On the Edit Relationship blade, enter the values for the following fields:

Enter a suitable comment that describes the relationship.
- Click Save.
