Changing sprint statuses


The Project Manager of the project, Portfolio/Program Manager of the portfolio/program, Project Masters, Portfolio Masters and Project Managers with write additional access to the project, can move the sprint to different statuses throughout its lifecycle.

To change a sprint status

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management application
  2. Navigate to Workspaces > Projects.
  3. To open an Agile project on the Projects workspace, click the required project ID.
  4. On the project details page, go to the Sprints tab and click the required sprint ID.
  5. On the sprint details page, click Edit.
  6. Select the required value in the Status field. The following table lists the required status change based on actions you can perform on a sprint:

    Change to status

    New


    The project manager decides the sprint is ready to be related to tasks from the backlog and the sprint cannot be deleted.

    Plan/Prepare

    The project manager cancels the sprint implementation.

    Cancelled

    Plan/Prepare

    Sprint is scheduled and planned completely, and tasks have been added. The project manager decides to start tasks implementation.

    Tasks related to the sprint are updated to To Do status automatically.

    In Progress

    The project manager cancels the sprint implementation.

    Tasks opened related to the sprint are cancelled automatically.

    Cancelled

    In Progress

    Once all tasks related to the sprint are implemented (Done status), the project manager can complete the sprint. No more tasks are related to the sprint.

    If the sprint is defined with the Automatic Done field being set to Yes, the sprint is updated automatically to Done status when the last task is completed (Done status).

    Done

    The project manager cancels the sprint implementation.

    Tasks opened related to the sprint are cancelled automatically.

    Cancelled

  7. Click Save.
