Creating Custom Labels
This topic guides you on how to create new Custom Labels. For a quick introduction to labels, you can refer to the Labels Overview.
The Custom Labels can be created only on Portfolio, Program and Project levels and can be created by the respective Portfolio/Program/Project Managers or the Application Admin.
To create a new Custom Label under a Portfolio/Program/Project
- Log in to the Portfolio Management application.
- Navigate to the Portfolio/Program/Project console:
- For the Project and Program console, navigate to Workspaces > Projects or Program
- For the Portfolio console, navigate to Portfolio > Application or Business Portfolio.
- Open the portfolio/program/project by clicking on the required portfolio/program/project ID.
- On the respective workspace, check the header functions. Click on the Labels. This will open the list of labels created within this Portfolio/Program/Project (if any).
Click on the + Custom Labels and enter the values for the following fields:

- Click Save. This will pop another window, asking you to select Type. This Type field has the list of modules that the Portfolio Management application contains.
Select one or multiple modules from the list. This means, the created Label can only be applied to the selected modules.
Please note, that the list of modules varies depending on the level (Portfolio, Program or Project) at which you are creating the Custom Label.
- In Portfolio, we get all the 9 modules, same as we got while creating a pre-configured label.
- In Program, we get 8 modules, same as in the Pre-Configured label, except Portfolio.
- In Project, we get only 2 modules, Project Task and Sprint/Phase (depending on the type of the project).
- Once done, the new label gets listed under the selected Portfolio/Program/Project.
