Viewing idea activities and adding activity notes
While viewing an idea, you can track the idea activities and add activity notes to the idea. Activity notes provide additional information about the idea such as feedback from other employees of the organization, communication details with the requester of the idea, and so on. You can view and track all the activities performed on an idea and add activity notes on the Activity tab on the idea details page.
You can perform the following actions on the Activity tab of an idea:
- View the name of the contributor who posted the comment.
- View the status changes and assignment changes.
- View automatic idea status updates.
- View information such as public notes.
- View feedback provided by a user who submitted an idea by using the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced application.
- Filter idea activities by using the available filters.
- Search the activities performed by a particular author.
- Add activity notes.
- Mention a specific person in a note using the @ symbol. (Note - Upon mentioning in the Activity Log, the mentioned person gets a notification. For more details, see Notification Matrix.)
To view Idea Activities
- Access the idea management console, in two ways:
- Log in to the Portfolio Management application and navigate to Workspaces > Ideas.
- Log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace and click the Idea tab.
- To open an idea on the Ideas workspace, click the required idea ID.
- On the idea details page, click the Activity tab.
On this tab, the latest change in the demand is displayed at the top. - To perform a search to view the updates made by a particular employee, click Filter, select the Author check box, enter the name of the agent, and click Apply.
You cannot perform the following actions on the Activity tab:
- Modify the order in which the idea activity details are displayed.
- Disable or enable auditing on the fields that are displayed in the idea activities.
To add activity notes to an idea
- Access the idea management console, in two ways:
- Log in to the Portfolio Management application and navigate to Workspaces > Ideas.
- Log in to BMC Helix Digital Workplace and click the Idea tab.
- To open a case on the Ideas workspace, click the required idea ID.
- On the idea details screen, click the Activity tab, and click Add a note text box.
Any text that you add is automatically spell-checked. The spell-check option is enabled by default. You can disable the spell check if you do not want the text to be checked. - Enter details in your activity note and click Post.
- To attach files to your notes, click Attach.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
