BMC Helix Portfolio Management Architecture

The Portfolio Management application for BMC Helix is a suite based on BMC Helix Innovation Studio as a development platform.

The solution provides the next modules:

  • Idea Management: Offers a structured system to collate ideas and proceed towards their implementation after analyzing the feasibility or requirement for the improvement of the organization. Designed fully integrated into Digital Workplace to leverage all innovations.
  • Demand Management: Supports portfolio management and offers all functions to optimally manage risks, resources and stakeholders. Once accepted, the demand can result in new projects or portfolios.
  • Project Management: Agile as well as Waterfall project management to support your teams to work efficiently and flexibly on projects. Create your backlog from portfolio requirements fully automated. Manage your tasks with Drag & Drop via Gantt and Kanban. No more worries if a task cannot be realized in a project, the request is safely stored in the portfolio and can be automatically assigned to the next release/project.
  • Program Management: Manage your related projects, the ones that share the same business objective or are related in any other aspect, collaboratively as a group under a program. Create a program and define projects under it. Programs have their own Idea and Demand management features. Check and manage the ideas and demands raised and track historical and new requirements in your program.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage your portfolio with a central overview of all activities related to your portfolio. May it be IT-related or LoB-related. See your employees' ideas for improvement and let them edit their requests. Control all projects in your portfolio and track historical and new requirements in your portfolio. No planned task or requirement from a project or demand will ever get lost again.

The relationships among the modules are shown in the following illustration.
