Configuring Idea Management

This section discusses how administrators can configure Idea Management to suit their organizations' business needs. For a quick introduction and life cycle of Idea Management, you can refer to Idea Management Overview

To configure the general settings

Idea General Settings you can specify the Rating Value for each vote and the limit that triggers the review process of the Idea. You can enter the Idea Manager by default when a new Idea is created.

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management application and click SettingsGear.PNG.
  2. Go to Idea Management > General.
    • Voting > Rating Value: this parameter is configuring a vote count i.e. if it's 5 and “Allen” votes for an idea based on the Rating value configured the vote count for that idea will be incremented by 5.
    • Voting > Review Threshold: it defines the rating of an idea, that triggers the review process. This means if the review threshold is “20” and the voting count for an idea reaches a rating of 20 then the idea automatically moves to the status Under Review.
    • Default Assignment > Idea Manager: insert the login id of a user to assign them to be the default Idea Manager. Idea Managers in general analyze, accept and reject ideas and makes an initial review before it turns into a Demand/ Requirement.  The configured person will be assigned to new ideas from Digital Workplace or Portfolio Management directly when no specific Portfolio was chosen before submission.
