Viewing project activities and adding activity notes


While viewing a project, you can track the project activities and add activity notes to the project. Activity notes provide additional information about the project such as details about tracking the project, communication details between the project manager and task users in the project, and so on. You can view and track all the activities performed on a project on the Activity tab on the project details page.

You can perform the following actions on the Activity tab of a project:

  • View the name of the contributor who commented.
  • View the status changes and assignment changes.
  • View automatic project status updates.
  • View information such as public notes. 
  • View feedback provided by a person who accesses the project.
  • Filter project activities by using the available filters.
  • Search the activities performed by a particular author.

To view project activities

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management application and navigate to Workspaces > Projects.
  2. To open a project on the Projects workspace, click the required project ID.
  3. On the project details page, click the Activity tab. 
    On this tab, the latest change in the project is displayed at the top.
  4. (Optional) To perform a search to view the updates made by a particular person, click Filter, select the Author check box, enter the name of the agent, and click Apply.

You cannot perform the following actions on the Activity tab:

  • Modify the order in which the project activity details are displayed.
  • Disable or enable auditing on the fields that are displayed in the project activities.

To add activity notes to a project

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management application and navigate to Workspaces > Projects.
  1. To open a project on the Projects workspace, click the required project ID.
  2. On the project details screen, click the Activity tab, and click Add a note text box.
    Any text that you add is automatically spell checked. The spell check option is enabled by default. You can disable the spell check if you do not want the text to be checked.
  3. Enter details in your activity note and click Post.
  1. (Optional) To attach files to your notes, click Attach. 

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
