Viewing and updating sprint details


The users who can access and view a sprint in a project: the Portfolio Manager creator of the project, the Project Manager assigned to the project, Task Users members of Teams of the project, the Portfolio Manager assigned to the portfolio of the project, Project Masters, Portfolio Masters and Project Managers granted additional accesses in the project.

The Project Manager assigned to the project, the Portfolio/Program Manager of the portfolio/program, Project Masters, Portfolio Masters and Project Managers granted 'Write' additional access, can edit the sprints within the Agile project.

To update a sprint

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management application
  2. Navigate to Workspaces > Projects.
  3. To open an Agile project on the Projects workspace, click the required project ID.
  4. On the project details page, go to the Sprints tab and click the required sprint ID.
  5. On the sprint details page, click Edit, and perform any of the following actions:

    Change the basic sprint details

    The project manager assigned and the portfolio/program manager can update basic details of the sprint:

    • Summary.
    • Description.
    • Priority.
    • Start Date.
    • End Date.
    • Progress.
    • Automatic Done, if 'Yes' sprint is moved to 'Done' status automatically when all tasks are completed. 

    Assign or reassign the sprint manager

    The project manager and portfolio/program manager can assign or reassign a task user responsible for tracking the implementation of the tasks in the sprint.

    • Click the Associate button next to the Sprint Manager field.
    • A blade window is opened with a list of teams for the project. Select a team and then select a task user and click Select
  6. Click Save to apply the changes.

Header functions

Opening a sprint, you can also view functions (bottoms) related to the sprint in the header.

The following table describes the sprint functionalities that you can view for your reference:

Purpose

Kanban

The project manager assigned and portfolio/program manager can open the Kanban board from sprint to manage the flow of the tasks. See Kanban Boards.

Resources

This button is visible to users who have the role of a resource contributor and if resource management is activated for Ideas. To get further details refer to Configure-source-entity-type.

Clicking on this button will open up a blade that shows all the resource requests and resource assignments that are related to this idea. This blade also has a button to directly create a resource request related to this idea.

Timecards

This button is visible to users who have the role of a resource contributor and if resource management is activated for Ideas. To get further details refer to Configure-source-entity-type.

Clicking on this button will open up a blade that will allow the logged-in user to create a timecard.

Other sprint tabs

Other than the basics you can also view certain tabs that provide more information about the sprint. The project manager can use this information to work on the sprint.

Tasks

List of the tasks related to the sprint.

To view the Kanban Board of the tasks related to the sprint, see Kanban-Boards

Activities

The Activities tab on the sprint details page displays activities and the history of the changes that the project manager and portfolio/program manager have made in the sprint.

Related

The project manager assigned and the portfolio/program manager can attach files to the sprint and view a consolidated list of all the documents added.
