Identifying risks


This topic guides you on how to enter risks related to demand.

These operations can be performed by the Demand Contributor creator of the demand (if the demand status is 'Draft' or 'Requested'), the Demand Manager of the demand, the Portfolio/Program Manager of the portfolio/program and Portfolio Master.

Once demand is 'Assessed' status, it is not allowed to enter or edit risks.

To add a new risk

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management application
  2. Navigate to Workspaces > Demands.
  3. To open a Demand on the Demands workspace, click the required demand ID.
  4. Go to the Risk tab and click the Add Risk button.
  5. On the create Risk page, enter the values for the following fields:

    Field Labels

    Description

    Summary 

    A short summary with details about risk. 

    Status 

    New, Under Investigation, Mitigated, Excepted, Irrelevant. 

    Mitigated Notice

    Few details on the mitigation plan. 

    Description

    A short risk description.

    Area

    Business, Employee, Financial, Satisfaction, Service.

    Impact

    High, Medium, Low.

    Risk Value

    Values between 1-5, 5 being defaulted.

    Calculated Risk

    Populated based on risk value and impact.

  6. Click Save.

To update a risk

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management application
  2. Navigate to Workspaces > Demands.
  3. To open a Demand on the Demands workspace, click the required demand ID. 
  4. Go to the Risk tab and click the required risk ID of the list.
  5. On the risk details page, click Edit,
  6. Apply changes in the risk fields.
  7. Click Save.
