Creating and managing Custom Cards


This topic guides you on how to create a new Custom Card. For a quick introduction to cards, you can refer to the Cards Overview.

These are the personal cards any user can create on their own as per their need.

To create a new Custom Card

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management application.
  2. On the Dashboard, go to the Settings icon on the top-right corner of the Card area (white area below the navigation bar). A window will pop up having two dropdowns dedicated to Pre-Configured and Custom Cards, respectively.
  3. Click on the + New Card button on the bottom left corner of the window and enter the values for the following fields:

    Field Labels

    Description

    Heading

    Provide a title, say, the name of the view you want to link with the card. 

    Description

    Provide a brief description of the card or the details of the view this card will navigate you to. 

    Icon

    This field has a dropdown of pre-configured icons with their titles. You may choose one from the list, as per your requirement. 

    Link

    As the title suggests, here you need to provide the link of the view where you want to reach using this Custom card.

    Please note, the link could either be of an internal view (within the Portfolio Management Application) or it could be of any external site (say, www.google.com).

  4. Click Save. This will list a new card under the Custom Cards dropdown. 
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
    This will bring you back to the Dashboard, now having a new custom card (the one you just created). Please note that the Custom Cards are only visible to individual users. No one else can see your Custom Cards.

The above steps will create a new custom card which will get listed in the Custom Cards dropdown. As you can see in the Custom Cards dropdown, the Custom Card has Edit, Delete and Hide/Show icons in front of it. 

To edit a Custom Card

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management Application
  2. On the Dashboard, go to the Settings icon on the top-right corner of the Card area (white area below the navigation bar). A window will pop up having two dropdowns dedicated to Pre-Configured and Custom Cards, respectively.
  3. Go to the Custom Cards dropdown.
  4. Click the Edit icon adjacent to the Custom Card that you want to edit. The Edit window will come up having all the fields.
  5. Edit the fields as required, and click Save.
  6. Click Save again to close the window. 

To delete a Custom Card

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management Application
  2. On the Dashboard, go to the Settings icon on the top-right corner of the Card area (white area below the navigation bar). A window will pop up having two dropdowns dedicated to Pre-Configured and Custom Cards, respectively.
  3. Go to the Custom Cards dropdown.
  4. Click the Delete icon adjacent to Custom Card you want to delete.  
  5. A dialogue box will appear asking for confirmation. Click Yes to continue the deletion.
  6. Click Save again to close the window. 

To hide/unhide a Custom Card

  1. Log in to the Portfolio Management Application
  2. On the Dashboard, go to the Settings icon on the top-right corner of the Card area (white area below the navigation bar). A window will pop up having two dropdowns dedicated to Pre-Configured and Custom Cards, respectively.
  3. Go to the Custom Cards dropdown.
  4. Click the Hide/Show icon adjacent to Custom Card you want to hide or unhide. The icon will work as a toggle key. 
  5. Click Save to close the window. 

Important

A user can create, edit, delete or hide/unhide a custom card, but can only hide/unhide the Pre-configured Cards, unless he has administrator rights.
