Cards Overview
Cards in the Portfolio Management application are the navigators, provided on the Dashboard to improve discoverability, access, and engagement on some chosen views (site or page).
Visually resembling a box-like structure, a card contains an embedded link, icon, title, description, and launch button - all associated with the same view. A single click on the Launch button will redirect you to the view linked with the card.
Being a part of the Dashboard, Cards are available on the landing page of the Portfolio Management application.
Types of Cards in Portfolio Management Application
On a creation basis, Cards are of the following types:
- Pre-Configured Cards
- Custom Cards
Pre-Configured Cards
For every new user, the landing page of the Portfolio Management application comes available with some Pre-Configured Cards created by their Application Admin. As an example, in the screenshot above, we have
- Timecard Dashboard
- Dashboard & Reporting
- Project Health Monitoring
Each card includes the view name with a brief description, an icon, and a launch button. A single click on the Launch button will redirect you to the linked view. It also includes a Hide icon on the top-right corner of the card to hide the card from the Dashboard.
For more information on how an application administrator creates a Pre-Configured Card, see Creating-and-editing-Pre-Configured-Cards.
Custom Cards
As the name suggests, these are the personal cards you can create to optimize your access. The Custom Cards don't come pre-provided in the system, the users have to create one for their own as per their needs. Also, the Custom Cards are only visible to individual users. No one can see the Custom Cards created in one's environment.
Similar to the Pre-Configured Cards, the Custom Cards also have the view name, with a brief description, an icon, and a launch button to redirect you to the linked view. It also includes a Hide icon on the top-right corner of the card to hide the card from the Dashboard.
For more information on how a user creates Custom Cards, see Managing-Cards.
