Creating and editing Pre-Configured Cards

A Pre-Configured Card can be created only on the application level and is made available for all users.
Being the admin-level tasks, the below operations can be performed by the application admin only.

Icon
Unlike the Custom Card’s Icon field, this field doesn’t have any dropdown of icons. Here, you need to type the title of the required icon. The icon can only be seen once the Card is visible on the Dashboard.
Launch Mode
This field is to define the mode via which we want to get associated with the View. It has a dropdown with two options – Link and View. The value selected here, in this field, affects the successive field in the list. Setting the Launch Mode to Link gives you a field named Link while setting it to View mode gives you a field called View Definition.
Important: The default value in this field is Link and thus the next default field is Link.
Link (If the Launch Mode is set to Link)
As the title suggests, here you need to provide the link of the view you want to reach using this Pre-Configured Card.
View Definition (If the Launch Mode is set to View)
Here you need to provide the Library ID along with the view name of the view where you want to reach using this Pre-Configured Card.
Application Bundle ID (If the Launch Mode is set to View)
Here, provide the Bundle ID for the view where you want to reach using this Pre-Configured Card.
Portal
This field has a selection dropdown having all the portals available in the application). You may choose one from the list, as per your requirement.
Visible by default
This field decides if the newly created card should be visible on the Dashboard or not.
Recommendation – It is better to keep the visibility ON so that every user of the application gets aware of the new Card. Later, if not needed the users can hide the Card from their Dashboard.
- Click Save. This will list the new card on the Manage Card page.
Go back to the Dashboard. It will now have the new card that you just created. You may also see this card listed under the Pre-Configured Cards dropdown.
As we now know how to create a Pre-Configured Card, let’s try understanding the Edit and Delete process of the Pre-Configured Card.
On the Manage Cards view, you will see the title in top and a grid having the list of Pre-Configured Cards, created so far. The grid has a Task Bar on the top having features like - Refresh/Reload, Filter, Search Grid, Visible Columns.
The Edit and Delete options pop up on the same Task Bar as soon as you select a card from the checkbox. If you select more than one card, the edit option will get disabled, and the deletion task can only be done.
