Configuring Demand Management


This section discusses how administrators can configure Demand Management to suit their organizations' business needs. For a quick introduction and life cycle of Demand Management, you can refer to Demand Management. Overview

To configure Resource Type

This console shows the Resource Type values which are required on the Resources related to Demands.

  1. Log in Portfolio Management application and click Settings Gear.PNG.
  2. Go to Demand Management > Resource Type.
  3. Click on the 'add.png New' button to add a new Resource Type.

    Field

    Description

    Examples

    Resource Type

    Resource Type value.

    CMDB Object, Equipment, Skill.

    Status

    The status field has two options namely, active and inactive. 

    Inactive, Active

To configure Resource Unit

This console shows the Resource Unit values which are required on the Resources related to Demands.

  1. Log in Portfolio Management application and click Settings Gear.PNG.
  2. Go to Demand Management > Resource Unit.
  3. Click on the 'add.png New' button to add a new Resource Type.

    Field

    Item, Day, Service.

    Status

    The status field has two options namely, active and inactive. 

    Inactive, Active

To configure Risk Area

This console shows the Risk Area values which are specified on the Risks related to Demands.

  1. Log in Portfolio Management application and click Settings Gear.PNG.
  2. Go to Demand Management > Risk Area.
  3. Click on the 'add.png New' button to add a new Risk Area.

    Field

    Risk Area

    Risk Area value.

    Business, Employee, Financial.

    Status

    The status field has two options namely, active and inactive. 

    Inactive, Active

To configure Risk Impact

This console shows the Risk Impact values which are required on the Risks related to Demands.

  1. Log in Portfolio Management application and click Settings Gear.PNG.
  2. Go to Demand Management > Risk Impact.
  3. Click on the 'add.png New' button to add a new Risk Impact.

    Field

    Risk Area

    Risk Impact value.

    Low, Medium, High.

    Status

    The status field has two options namely, active and inactive. 

    Inactive, Active

To configure Stakeholder Roles

This console shows the Stakeholder Roles values which are required on the Stakeholders related with Demands.

  1. Log in Portfolio Management application and click Settings Gear.PNG.
  2. Go to Demand Management > Stakeholder Roles.
  3. Click on the 'add.png New' button to add a new Stakeholder Role.

    Field

    Risk Area

    Stakeholder Role value.

    Service Owner, Supplier, Contractor.

    Status

    The status field has two options namely, active and inactive.

To configure Strategy

This console shows the Strategy values which are specified on the Demands.

  1. Log in Portfolio Management application and click Settings Gear.PNG.
  2. Go to Demand Management > Strategy.
  3. Click on the 'add.png New' button to add a new Strategy.
