PDF Generator Overview
The PDF Generator is a flexible and configurable feature within the Helix Portfolio Management (HPM) application that can be enabled across any record definition based on business requirements. It allows users to export record-level data into professionally formatted PDF documents with a configurable layout, styling, and content.
While the capability is universally applicable, out-of-the-box support is currently provided for generating PDF exports from Project Status Reports and the Employee Development Card.
This is particularly useful for generating data-driven reports that can be printed or shared with stakeholders. The feature is designed to be fully customizable and easily extendable via BMC Helix Innovation Studio.
Users can perform the following tasks:
- Design and modify PDF layouts directly in BMC Helix Innovation Studio
- Insert dynamic data using expressions
- Configure layout elements such as headers, footers, page margins, and table of contents
- Preview PDFs from any view using a button click
- Create multiple PDF views based on different configurations
