Licenses for BMC Helix Business Workflows


BMC Helix Business Workflows is an application that is built on BMC Helix Innovation Studio. BMC Helix Business Workflows uses BMC Helix Innovation Suite licenses to onboard users. License configuration differs based on whether BMC Helix Business Workflows is newly installed to version 21.3 or later, or upgraded to version 21.3 or later.

Licenses used in version 21.3 and later

Prior to version 21.3, Named and Concurrent licenses were assigned to users. From version 21.3, Named licenses are called Fixed licenses and Concurrent licenses are called Floating licenses in BMC Helix Innovation Suite.

Bundled licenses that are provided in BMC Helix Innovation Suite include Platform licenses and Application licenses together. Bundled licenses are assigned to custom applications.

Example

Apex Global migrated to the 21.3 version of BMC Helix Business Workflows. They had 500 Named licenses and 50 Concurrent licenses. After migrating, users with the Named licenses automatically acquired the Platform Fixed licenses in BMC Helix Innovation Suite 21.3. The 50 Concurrent licenses were converted to 50 Platform Floating licenses that were shared between users.

From version 21.3 onwards, Fixed licenses and Floating licenses are automatically assigned in BMC Helix Innovation Suite for BMC Helix Business Workflows users.


License model in BMC Helix Business Workflows

When a customer upgrades to version 21.3 or later, Named and Concurrent licenses that a customer has are converted to corresponding Fixed and Floating licenses.
