Customizing views for lines of business
As a case business analyst, you can modify the look and feel of the UI by copying and modifying views for a line of business. Default views are provided in the content package for BMC Helix Business Workflows. For example, for the Procurement line of business, you can create a view that displays the bill details for procured items. Before you begin
If you want to define custom views, you must use the extension container in BMC Helix Innovation Studio. Learn how to create a new view in Creating or modifying views.
To customize a view for a line of business by copying a default view
- Log in to BMC Helix Business Workflows.
- Click Settings

- Select Line of Business > View Configuration.
The Manage Views page displays the list of default views available for lines of business. - Click the three dots
for the view that you want to customize.
For example, click the three dots for the Case Console view. - Click Copy default view.
- In View Name, specify a name for the copied view.
- Click Copy.
- To modify the newly created view, click Edit.
You are navigated to the edit view page in BMC Helix Innovation Studio on a separate tab. Learn more about defining views in BMC Helix Innovation Studio in Creating or modifying view definitions. - To preview the customized view on a separate tab, click Preview.
- To apply the view, click Activate.
What to do next
Review the copied views. If you observe any record definitions or artifacts that refer to the source line of business, change the reference to the target line of business.

Troubleshooting
Artifacts that are referred to in a copied view must have the scope as Public in the source line of business. If the scope of the artifact is Library in the source line of business, an error occurs when the view is copied.
