Modifying the approval request fields displayed in the Approval Console

For approvals to run for record definitions, it is important that as an administrator, you register the record with the Approval application. In BMC Helix Business Workflows, the case record is already registered with the Approval application and some default fields are displayed on the Approval Console. You can register other records like task and knowledge article with the Approval application, and also if required, use additional fields in the record definitions.

While registering a record, you must specify the additional record fields to be displayed on the Approval console. An approver can refer to these fields for details about the record.

The following image shows the case fields that are set by default to be displayed on the Approval console:

The following case fields are displayed on the Approval console and an approver can refer to these fields for additional information about a case:

  • Record Definition Name
  • Requester
  • Summary
  • Permissions
  • Request ID
  • Created Date
  • Service Request Display ID
  • Application Status Label
  • Priority

You can modify these fields, except for the Record Definition Name field.
