Modifying case access

Each case by default can be accessed by:

  • Requester—a user who requests for an HR service
  • Submitter—an HR agent who opened a case based on the request from an employee
  • Assigned Group —an HR group assigned to a case
  • Assigned Individual —an HR agent assigned to a case

Tips

Assigned Group, and Assigned Individual are initially configured during a case creation in one of the following ways:

  • Defined in a solution (by the HR Administrator) which is used for creation of an HR request in BMC MyIT
  • Defined by the HR agent who creates a case.

You can review who has access to a case in its form, on the Case Access tab.

Any HR agent who has access to a case, can modify its access permissions on the Case Access tab:

  • Restrict access for Submitter, Requester, Assigned group, Assigned individual, and other users and group of users by removing them from the Case Access list
  • Provide access to the following users by adding them to the Case Access list:

    • Another group by clicking Add Group
    • Another HR individual by clicking Add Person

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
