Creating and exporting an AIML file
After you have modified the configuration files, you can create or edit an existing Artificial Intelligence Markup Language (AIML) file and then export it to the BMC Virtual Chat server.
The following sections give steps to create and export an AIML file by using Gaitobot AIML editor:
To create an AIML file in Gaitobot
The following procedure give steps to create an AIML file in Gaitobot AIML editor:
- Download and install the Gaitobot AIML editor. For more information, see Recommended-AIML-tools.
- Start Gaitobot.
- Click Create New Workspace.
- Type a name for your workspace and click OK.
- Perform either of the following tasks:
- To create a new file, click the New File icon (plus sign).
- To open an existing file, click the Folder icon and browse to the file.
- To add a new category, click Add New Category.
A blank category appears in the graphic view tab. - Type your question and answer responses in the <pattern> and <template> elements.
- Continue to add and delete categories.
- To add <srai>, <random>, and <li> elements, click the appropriate button in the Insert element area on the right side of the window.
- Test your code by using the Test Bot feature of Gaitobot.
- In the bottom left corner of the window, click Test Bot.
- In the say box, type your question (your question should match what you have defined in your AIML file).
- Click say or press Enter.
The appropriate response appears in the Test Bot pane.
- Optionally, click the AIML source code tab to view the AIML code.
- Click Save.
To export an AIML file from Gaitobot
After you have saved the AIML, you must export it to the BMC Virtual Chat server.
The following procedure give the steps to export an AIML file from Gaitobot AIML editor:
- In the Gaitobot window, click Export.
- In the Export Directory box, type the name of the export directory. This directory should be the C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMCVirtualAgent\VirualAgentComponents\var\programd\aiml folder on the BMC Mid Tier server.
Click Start Export.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
