Changing the chat session timeout
If self-service users are inactive in a chat session, they are eventually logged out. The default value for the chat session timeout is 30 minutes.
- Open the Live Chat Administration Console.
- Select Self Service Portal > Configuration.
- Select the System configuration entry and click Modify.
Modify the the timeout value in the following XML code block from 30 (minutes) to the new number of minutes:

- In the Registered Servlets table, select the ESChat servlet, and click Refresh Servlets.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
