Localizing system message responses in BMC HelixGPT


English (US) is the default language of the BMC HelixGPT application. As an administrator, you can enhance the user experience when using BMC HelixGPT in BMC Helix Virtual Agent and BMC Helix Digital Workplace by configuring the settings for localizing system messages.

Important

BMC HelixGPT supports all the languages supported by BMC Helix Digital Workplace. For more information about the supported languages, see Supported languages and locales.


Before you begin

Make sure you have the HelixGPT Administrator role to add data sources. Learn more about roles in Roles-and-permissions.

To configure BMC HelixGPT to localize system messages

  1. As a HelixGPT Admin user, log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio. 
  2. On the Workspace tab, click HelixGPT Manager
  3. On the Records tab, select the check box for the SystemMessages record definition and click Edit data.
  4. On the Data editor (SystemMessages) page, select a record, and click Edit.
  5. In the Edit record pane, against the Message field, click Localize.

  6. Review the supported languages and the corresponding system messages.
  7. (Optional) Update the system message for any language if required, as shown in the following image:

  8. Click Save.

When an end user changes the system locale settings, BMC HelixGPT recognizes the changes in the locale and localizes the system message responses, such as a response to the Greetings message.

Important

When BMC HelixGPT detects an unsupported end-user system locale setting, it defaults to responding in English (US).

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
