Task 1: Getting the migration utility
The following image shows the process of migrating the SRDs from BMC Service Request Management to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog.
Before you begin
Make sure that you have the ITSM Application bundle version 23.3.02 or later in your environment. If you do not have this bundle, contact BMC Customer Support.
The following image shows the ITSM Application bundle in BMC Helix Innovation Studio > Workspace tab.
To download the migration utility
As an administrator, download the migration utility the D2P package.
Log in to Electronic Product Distribution by using your Subscription ID.
- Select Downloads & Products > Product Download Tool.
- On the Electronic Product Distribution page, in Licensed Products, search BMC Helix Digital Workplace.
- Select the applicable version.
- Download the following migration utility file and the related D2P package:
- BMC Helix Digital Workplace SRD to DWP Catalog Migration Utility <version>
- BMC Helix Digital Workplace SRD to DWP Catalog Migration D2P package <version>
- BMC Helix DWP SRD to DWP Catalog Migration D2P package SHA checksum <version>
- BMC Helix DWP SRD to DWP Catalog Migration Utility SHA checksum <version>
The following image shows the files to be downloaded from Electronic Product Distribution:
- To deploy the D2P package, as an administrator, log in to Action Request System.
- Select AR System Administrator > AR System Deployment Management Console.
- Select Transfer Package > Import.
- In the dialog box, click Browse to navigate to the local folder where you downloaded the BMCSRDtoDWPCatalogServiceMigration.zip file.
- Select the file and click OK.
You should be able to view the BMC SRD to DWP Catalog Service Migration package in the AR System Deployment Management Console, as shown in the following image:
- To deploy the migration utility, as an administrator, log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio.
- On the Workspace tab, click Install.
- Select the srd-migration-23.3.03-2024-07-25 file that you downloaded earlier.
You should be able to view the SRD migration utility in BMC Helix Innovation Studio, on the Workspace tab, as shown in the following image:
To complete the postinstallation settings
After getting the SRD to BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog migration utility, set up a connection between the BMC Helix Innovation Studio and Catalog instance.
- As an administrator, log in to BMC Helix Innovation Studio.
- Click the Administration tab.
- Select Integrations > Web APIs > Web API connections.
- To create a new Web API connection, click New.
- On the New web API connection page, complete the following fields:
- In Name, enter a meaningful name to easily identify the web API connection.
For example, DWP Catalog - In Host name, enter the host name of the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog instance.
- In Port, enter 443.
The port for the Catalog is 443. - From the Protocol list, select the protocol for the Catalog instance.
- From the Authentication list, select Remedy.
- In Name, enter a meaningful name to easily identify the web API connection.
- Click Next.
- On the Edit web API connection page, complete the following fields:
- In Login, specify the login name of the administrator who will run the migration utility.
- In Password, specify the administrator password.
- Click Add HTTP headers.
- Add the following HTTP headers:
- Content-Type with the application/json value.
- default-bundle-scope with the myit-sb value.
- X-Requested-By with the XmlHttpRequest value.
- Click Save.
- To map the Web API connection with the application, click Web API mapping.
- In Application, select SRD Migration.
- In Connection target, enter the target application to which you want to connect.
For example, DWP Catalog - From the Connection configuration list, select the Web API configuration that you created earlier.

You have defined the connection between the BMC Service Request Management migration utility BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog.
