Setting up administrator authentication

BMC Helix Digital Workplacesupports user and administrator logins. Both types of logins are authenticated by using Action Request System (AR System). To assign administration permissions to users, you need to add these users to the MyIT Admin or MyIT Super Admin group. The permission defines the capabilities that the assigned user account can have in the Admin Console.

To assign administrator permissions to users

  1. From the AR System Administration Console, go to Application > Users / Groups / Roles > User.
The User Form window opens in Search mode.
  2. Click Search to retrieve a list of defined users.
  3. Select a user from the list, and assign one of the following permissions to the selected user:
    • To assign standard administrator permissions to the user, in the Group List field, select MyIT Admin.
    • To assign super administrator permissions to the user, in the Group List field, select MyIT Super Admin.
  4. Save your changes.

For more information about creating and managing users, seeCreating and modifying users.

Permissions considerations

Accounts with administrator access must have "Write" access. If the administrator does not have "Write" access, they cannot edit any setting that they have not submitted.
