BMC Helix Digital Workplace Basic
The BMC Helix Digital Workplace Basic license entitles you to access the following basic features:
- Assistance (Contact IT)
- Approvals
- Broadcasts for user groups
Each user-licensed add-on entitles a person to perform the same activities that the BMC Self-Service - User License Add-on entitles them to perform.
BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced
The BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced license entitles you to access the following advanced features:
- Assistance (catalog and contact IT)
- Appointments
- Approvals
- Broadcasts for user groups
- Broadcasts for services and locations
- Credit management
- Enhanced catalog (Digital Workplace Catalog)
- Location
- Managed Service Providers
- Page builder
- Service health
- Virtual Chat
- Reports in BMC Helix Dashboards.
BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced supports BMC Helix Integration Service and BMC Helix Virtual Agent, which you must purchase separately. After you purchase BMC Helix Virtual Agent, you get BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround by ComAround as a search provider.
BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced – Self-Registered User
You must have a BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced license before you purchase this additional license. The BMC Helix Digital Workplace Advanced – Self-Registered User license entitles you to use the External Users feature.
You must purchase this license to provide BMC Helix Digital Workplace access to users that are external to your organization.
BMC Action Request System Server
BMC Helix Digital Workplace entitles a customer to create, modify, and read unlimited records in BMC Action Request System Server that supports deployment and use of BMC Helix Digital Workplace use cases serving licensed BMC Helix Digital Workplace users. Because the BMC Helix Digital Workplace package includes zero dollar licenses, you may use these licenses only within the context of the solution provided. You cannot use BMC Action Request System Server as a stand-alone product.
The context of this limitation is as follows:
- Action Request System (AR System) is supplied as a foundation component for deploying BMC Helix Digital Workplace. Use of Action Request System (AR System) is limited to running the components within BMC Helix Digital Workplace and implementing integrations with providers associated with delivering the BMC Helix Digital Workplace solution.
- Three fixed user licenses are provided with Action Request System (AR System) for performing BMC Helix Digital Workplace administrative tasks. Every Action Request System (AR System) user will use their AR license when they log in to BMC Digital Workplace. This AR license is released when the user logs out or the session times out.
- Action Request System (AR System) may be integrated only with external data sources or third-party providers in conjunction with the product. It may not be used in a stand-alone configuration without integration with BMC Helix Digital Workplace.
Actions that void the zero dollar licenses and require a full purchase of the components include but are not limited to:
- Using AR System Server to customize, test, or run BMC Helix ITSM or third-party applications.
- Using AR System Server to develop, test, or run a new custom application.
- Using the three provided fixed users licenses to power custom applications or other applications powered by Action Request System (AR System), except BMC Helix Digital Workplace.
