Before you begin

You must build the remote server and connectors before using this feature.

To add a connection to a remote server

  1. Click gear.png to view the Application Settings.
    Remote_server.png
  1. Click Remote Connector Servers.
  2. Click Actions > New Server.
  3. In the Remote Server Configuration, provide the following details for the server:

    • Name—A user-friendly name that will assist BMC Digital Workplace Catalog administrators with identifying the server.
    • URL—Base URL where the Service Provider Interface (SPI) is available on the remote server.

      Warning

      Important

All URIs described in this documentation are relative to this base URL.

    • User Name and Password—User credentials for connecting to the server.
    • Trust all SSL keys—If your server uses HTTPs, select this option to have BMC Digital Workplace Catalog to trust all SSL keys, instead of using the JRE keystore that has the whitelist of trusted authorities.

      Success

      Best practice
Select this option in test environments. In production environments, add the server certificate to the JRE keystore. A restart of the BMC Digital Workplace Catalogserver may be required.

  4. Repeat steps 1-4 to add connections to multiple servers that have connectors that can be used by BMC Digital Workplace Catalog.
