Enabling a maps license

The BMC Digital Workplace end user console will not show location maps without an administrator obtaining and enabling a Google Maps license as described in this topic. Location maps are required to access floor maps.

The following images illustrate an example of a user profile page in which a map is shown:

Options for obtaining a Google Maps license

You must obtain a license from Google. Contact Google directly to arrange an API licensing option based on your expected usage. You can perform any of the following tasks:

  • Generate your own license key on the Google Developer's Console.
From this console, you can also add more host URLs as needed.
  • Register with Google for a production or nonproduction license key. (You can use a nonproduction license key for testing, development, and training.)
  • Use a cryptographic signing key to generate unique signatures for your web service requests. See Digital signaturesin the Google documentation.

For information about obtaining a license, see Obtaining an API key in the Google documentation. You must also enable the Geocoding and Geolocation APIs.
