Using NetApp Capacity Views for BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization

To filter information by domain:

1. Access the NetApp Systems view:
   1. In the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, click the Views tab. All views available are displayed.
   2. In the Storage category, click NetApp Systems.  
2. Click the HA Pairs/Clusters, vFilers/Vservers, Aggregates, Volumes, or LUNs tab.
3. Locate the Domain filter.
   
4. Click  to display the domains available.
5. Click the required domain.

To filter information by NetApp system:

1. Access the NetApp Systems view:
   1. In the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, click the Views tab. All views available are displayed.
   2. In the Storage category, click NetApp Systems.  
2. Click the vFilers/Vservers, Aggregates, Volumes, or LUNs tab.
3. Locate the NetApp System filter.
   
4. Click the required NetApp system.

To filter information by mapping status:

1. Access the NetApp Systems view:
   1. In the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, click the Views tab. All views available are displayed.
   2. In the Storage category, click NetApp Systems.  
2. Click the LUNs tab.
3. Locate the Mapped / Not Mapped filter.
   
4. Select the required option.

1. Access the NetApp Systems view:
   1. In the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, click the Views tab. All views available are displayed.
   2. In the Storage category, click NetApp Systems.  
2. Click the HA Pairs/Clusters tab.
   
3. Click a HA Pair/Cluster to display its details.
4. On this page, you can read:
   1. configuration data. The information displayed depends on the configuration data metrics available for the entity. They are described in the NetApp Data ONTAP ETL User Documentation.
      

   2. the Storage summary which provides the following information:

      

      Storage summary	Description
      Size	Overall size of the HA Pair/Cluster.
      Capacity	Total capacity in Terabytes.
      System and Parity	Total amount of storage dedicated to the HA Pair/Cluster and data parity (in Terabytes).
      Consumed Capacity	Capacity actually consumed in Terabytes.
      Available in Storage Pools	Raw space available for creating aggregates.
      Available for Storage Pools	Sum of capacity not consumed in all storage pools.
      Subscribed Capacity	Sum of the host visible capacity (in Terabytes) for all volumes.

   3. the Controllers Overview which provides the following information:

      

      Column	Description	Statistics consolidation function and time resolution
      Name	Controller name.	n/a
      Number of Ports	Total number of ports.	n/a

   4. the Ports Overview which provides the following information:
      

      Column	Description	Statistics consolidation function and time resolution
      Name	Port Name.	n/a
      Controller Name	Name of the controller connected to the port.	n/a
      Type	Type of port.	n/a
      Address	Port address.	n/a
      Bandwidth (Gb/s)	Data transfer rate in Gigabytes per second.	n/a

   5. the Disks Overview which provides the following information
      

      Column	Description	Statistics consolidation function and time resolution
      Name	Disk name.	n/a
      Model	Disk model.	n/a
      Type	Type of disk.	n/a
      RPM	Disk speed in revolutions per minute.	n/a
      Size (GB)	Overall size in Gigabytes.	n/a

      Capacity	Total capacity.

      Available Capacity	Capacity not  consumed.

   3. the data traffic from IO (Operations/s) graph.

   4. quotas information:

      Column	Description	Statistics consolidation function and time resolution
      Updated*	Date and time of the latest update.	Latest day
      Type	Type of quota.	n/a
      ID	User ID, UNIX group name.	n/a
      Tree	Qtree to which the quota is applied.	n/a
      Used (MB)	Capacity actually used by the quota.	Average on the latest day

      Soft Limit (MB)	Disk space limit applied to soft quotas.	Average on the latest day

      Files Used	Total number of files used.	Average on the latest day
      Files Hard Limit	Hard limit on files as specified in the /etc/quotas file of the storage system.	Average on the latest day
      Files Soft Limit	Soft limit on files as specified in the /etc/quotas file of the storage system.	Average on the latest day

      Host Visible Capacity	Amount of capacity exposed to the host (i.e. subscribed capacity).
      Consumed Capacity	Capacity actually consumed.

   3. the data traffic from the Transfer Rates (Bytes/sec) and IO (Operations/s) graphs.
