NetApp Capacity Views for BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization v10.5 supports:

  • BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization v10.5
  • NetApp Data ONTAP ETL for BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization v10.5

NetApp Filers

All NetApp storage filers with Data ONTAP up to version 8.3 (both 7-mode and C-mode).

Data ONTAP 9 is compatible with NetApp Data ONTAP ETL Level 105 or higher. Click here to download a compatible package.

Prerequisites

To ensure storage capacity data are imported into the NetApp Capacity Views, you need to install NetApp Data ONTAP ETL for BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization and make sure the NetApp Terminology is enabled. For more information, refer to Deploying and Configuring NetApp Data ONTAP ETL for BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization.

Deploying NetApp Capacity Views for BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization

Complete the following steps to deploy the NetApp Capacity Views for BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization:

  1. Navigate to Administration > System > Maintenance:
    1. Select the Additional Packages tab.
    2. Verify the installation status of the already uploaded packages. If their status are "READY" or "RUNNING", wait for the installation to complete before proceeding.
    3. In the Upload patch or additional package file section, click Browse to locate and select the package file.
    4. Click Upload.
  2. Read the Overview and click Next to continue.
  3. Read and accept the End User License Agreement.
  4. Select the server on which the package will be installed and click Proceed.
  5. A successful installation will result in a green line in the Additional Packages table.

Note

 In case of unsuccessful outcome (e.g. a yellow WARNING line), click the View_Deployment_Log.png icon to inspect the deployment log.

Once the ETL is properly installed and configured with NetApp Terminology enabled, the NetApp Capacity views will be automatically materialized every day by the NetApp Capacity Views - Data Mart Materializer task. If the ETL has been installed at the same time as the NetApp Capacity Views, you will have to wait for at least 24 hours before visualizing data in the views.
