Creating and managing license types (2021 Release 02)

You can create software license types, which you can use in the Software Licenses module. You can use them to identify software titles as OEM, Enterprise, Site, or any user-defined description.

To create a license type

1. On the header bar, expand the hamburger menu and select Configuration.
2. Click Software Licenses and select License Type.
3. On the License Type page, click New.
4. In the New License Type dialog box, follow these steps:
   1. In the Name field, enter the license type name.
   2. (Optional) To make this license type unavailable, select the Mark as Inactive check box.
5. Click Save.
   The new license type is created. If the license type name already exists in the system, an error message is generated.
6. To add more license types, repeat steps 3, 4, and 5.

To edit a license type

1. On the header bar, expand the hamburger menu and select Configuration.
2. Click Software Licenses and select License Type.
3. On the License Type page, select the license type to be edited.
4. Click  to edit the license type.
5. Click Save.
   The license type is edited. If the edited license type name already exists in the system, an error message is generated.

To delete a license type

1. On the header bar, expand the hamburger menu and select Configuration.
2. Click Software Licenses and select License Type.
3. On the License Type page, select the license type to be deleted.
4. Click  to delete the license type.
5. Click Yes.
   The license type is deleted from the user interface and the database.
