Unlocking a record locked by another technician
(2023 Release 02) If technicians have records open in their workspace, then these records are automatically locked for other technicians. These records are displayed in read-only mode and the data cannot be edited by other technicians. You can now unlock these multiple locked records directly from the interfaces of the Ticket, Assignment, Purchase Order, Purchase Item, Announcement, Solution, Change Request, Asset, Master Item, Software Title, and Software License modules.
To unlock a record locked by another technician
- On the header bar, expand the hamburger menu
and select Configuration. - Click Application Settings and select Unlock Records.
- On the Unlock Records page, select the records to be unlocked from the grid.
- In the search box, enter the Record ID and click Search
. - Click Filter
to filter the records according to the modules.
You can sort the column values in the grid view in ascending or descending order. By default, the grid view is sorted in ascending order of the values in the first column, that is, the Record ID column.
- In the search box, enter the Record ID and click Search
- Click Unlock
. In the Unlock Record dialog box, click Yes.
The records are unlocked and the record data is editable.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
