Determining the primary owner of an asset
BMC Client Management (BCM) determines the primary owner of an asset during an asset audit. The primary owner details are synchronized with Track-It! during Asset Synchronization. For a user to become the primary owner of an asset, the user must be a Requestor with a valid Windows User ID. This identification was added in the Requestor form when the Requestor was initially created.
To determine the primary owner
- Log in to the asset with the credentials of the Requestor that you want as the primary owner.
- Perform an asset audit.
You can perform this audit from the user interface of Track-It! or BCM. - After the audit is successful, perform Asset Synchronization manually or wait for the next scheduled Asset Synchronization to complete.
The Requestor that you used to log in to the asset in step 1 is set as the primary owner of the asset in Track-It!. For more information about Asset Synchronization, see To schedule asset synchronization or To manually synchronize assets.
