The displayed language depends on your browser language. However, you can change languages from the Language menu.

Logging in to and logging out of Self Service


As a Requestor, you can start a Track-It! requestor session by logging in to Track-It! from a browser.

To enable auto-login for the Self Service portal, you must turn on the Active Directory authentication.

Warning

To avoid security breaches, an existing requestor session might be terminated when you click Refresh, Go back, or Go forward in your browser.

Logging in as a requestor by using Track-It! credentials

Perform the following steps to log in by using your Track-It! credentials:

  1. In a browser, go to your Track-It! Self Service URL (for example, http://serverName/TrackIt/SelfService).
  2. Track-It! verifies your URL and displays the Self Service Login page.
  3. Enter your credentials as follows:
    • USER NAME – Track-It! Requestor User Name
    • Password – Unique password established for the User Name
    • Language – Select a Language from drop down list. The languages supported are English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italian, and Portuguese (Brazil). The language that you select determines the locale assigned to you. You can also add a new language and select a preferred locale while configuring Self Service. For more information, see To add a language in Self Service.

      Important

      The language and the locale that you select when logging in to Self Service determines the date format and the decimal separator symbol that Track-It! uses.

  4. Click Log In.
    A welcome message is displayed after you have logged in successfully.

Logging in as a requestor by using Microsoft Windows Integrated Authentication

You can log in by using Windows Authentication.

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites apply before you use Windows Authentication to log in to Track-It!:

  • The Enable Windows Authentication check box must be selected. This check box is available under Configuration > Application Settings > User Authentication > Windows Authentication.
  • The Use Windows Authentication check box must be selected for the requestor account.
  • The requestor account must have a Windows User ID.

To log in by using Windows Authentication

  1. In a browser, go to your Track-It! Self Service URL (for example, http://serverName/TrackIt/SelfService).
  2. On the Login page, click Login using your Windows account.
    Alternatively, you can go to http://serverName/TrackIt/SelfService/Login.
  3. In the Self Service section, select your preferred language.
    You select your preferred language only when you log in for the first time.

Logging out of a Track-It! requestor session

Perform the following steps to log out:

  1. Click the My Profile icon at the top-right corner of your screen.
  2. Click Log Out.
    The requestor is logged out of Track-It! and the Self Service Login screen is displayed.

Important

Track-It! sometimes experiences automatic logouts or actively working sessions sometimes time out. Some of the causes for this are as follows:

  • Track-It! DB and Application Server are in different time zones.
  • A large number of recurring jobs are scheduled on the application server.
  • There are failed Business Rules in Business Rules Job Queue.
  • The auto recycle settings of the IIS (Internet Information Services) are enabled.
