This topic contains information about enhancements in 2021 Release 02 of the Track-It! product, and provides instructions for downloading and installing the product update.

Description

Feature preview – Software License Management (SLM)

This version introduces the Software License Management feature.

Important

This is only a preview of the feature. We do not yet recommend incorporating it into your production workflows.

You can activate the SLM preview feature by changing the system settings. For more information, see Configuring-system-settings.

You can perform the following functions:

  • Creating, and editing License Types
  • Creating, and editing publishers
  • Creating, editing, viewing, and deleting license sources

You can also perform the following tasks related to software titles:


    • Creating, and editing software titles
    • Previewing the details of a selected software title in the preview pane
    • Linking and unlinking a product or application from a software title
    • Linking a software license to a software title and editing the license
    • Adding and deleting attachments from a software license linked to a software title

Updates to configuring system settings

This version introduces the Track-It! Preview Features section in System Settings.

  • You can activate the Software License Management feature preview.
  • You can allow or block the inserting of images in outbound email conversations.

Updates to configuring Business rules

This version introduces the following updates to configuring Business Rules:

  • You can use a template when configuring a Business Rule for creating and updating ticket records.
  • We have updated the defining conditions when configuring a Business Rule.
  • We have updated the conditions for assigning a requestor email address when you configure a Business Rule to perform an action via email.

Updates to managing requestor profile

You can update your requestor profile in the Self Service portal with any changes in your address or phone number. For more information, see Managing-requestor-profile.

Updates to approving or rejecting change requests in Self Service

When you accept or reject a change request, an approver's comments are displayed on the Change Approval form. For more information, see Approving or rejecting change requests in Self Service.

Updates to designing and generating reports

You must validate bindings after copying a report to ensure correct field mappings. For more information, see Designing-and-generating-reports.

Updates to Help Desk features

You can modify multimodule list views on the Help Desk by managing columns, filters, and formatting.

You can also save any changes made to customized multimodule views.

To enable configuring filters and field columns, and defining formatting rules, you must save a customized view.

Updates to creating a ticket from Self Service

  • You can insert screenshots and format text in the Note field when creating a ticket from Self Service.
  • You can select the assets associated with the logged-in requestor when you create a ticket from Self Service.

You can format Ticket notes and Resolution notes by using the different rich text formatting options when you update a ticket from Self Service.

Updates to formatting outgoing emails

You can format outgoing emails by using the different rich text formatting options. You can also insert inline images in the email body.

  • You can synchronize the software titles created or modified in BCM to Track-It!.
  • You can synchronize assets linked to a software title.
  • You can synchronize the BCM license type to a software title.
  • You can synchronize software license linked to a software title.

Updates to selecting the data source of a report

  • A new Track-It! data model zip file is available.
  • You can view the data model by using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser only.
  • You can view the data model via Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager only if you want to access the data model on Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
