Installing SSL certificates
To establish a remote control session on the target device, Track-It! checks whether the browser uses an SSL certificate to authenticate a remote control session. You must download the certificate and add it as an exception to the browser.
To download the certificate
When you try to establish a remote control session with a target device, Track-It! checks whether the browser uses an SSL certificate. You must download the certificate and add it as a trusted certificate for each browser.
Download the certificate to your local system and install the downloaded certificate.
To install the SSL certificate in Google Chrome
- Open the Chrome browser.
- On the top right corner, click the Menu icon.
- Click Settings.
- Under the Advanced settings, click Manage Certificates.
- To begin the certificate import to the browser, click Import.
- In the Certificate Import Wizard window, click Next.
- In the File to Import window, click Browse to select the SSL certificate.
- In the Certificate Store window, select Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate.
- Click Next and Finish.
The certificate is installed.
BMC Client Management is a trusted certificate authority. The remote control session established by using this browser establishes a trusted connection with the target device.
To install an SSL certificate in Internet Explorer
- Open an Internet Explorer (IE) browser.
- On the top right corner, click the Tools icon.
- Click Internet options and then click the Content tab.
- On the Content tab, click Certificates.
- Open the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab.
- To begin the certificate import to the browser, click Import.
- In the Certificate Import Wizard window, click Next.
- In the File to Import window, click Browse to select the SSL certificate.
- In the Certificate Store window, select Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate.
- Click Next and Finish.
The certificate is installed.
BMC Client Management is a trusted certificate authority. The remote control session established by using this browser establishes a trusted connection with the target device.
To install the SSL certificate in Mozilla Firefox
- Open a Firefox browser.
- On the top right corner, click the menu icon.
- Click Options.
- In the Options window, click Advanced.
- In the Advanced menu options, click Certificates and click View Certificates.
- In the Certificate Manager section, click Authorities.
- To import the SSL certificate, click Import.
- In the Certificate Manager window, click Servers and click Add Exception.
- In the Add Security Exception window, in the Locations field, enter the path that contains the certificate file.
- Click Get Certificate.
- After the certificate is added to the certificate manager, click Confirm Security Exception.
- Trust the BMC Client Management Certificate Authority and click OK.
BMC Client Management is a trusted certificate authority. The remote control session established by using this browser establishes a trusted connection with the target device.
To install the certificate when logging on to the BMC Client Management server
Alternatively, you can install the certificate when you log in to the BMC Client Management server from the Firefox browser.
- Open a Firefox browser.
- Enter the URL of the BMC Client Management server.
- On the dialog box that appears, click Advanced.
- Click Add Exception to add the certificate to the list of trusted certificates.
- In the Add Security Exception window, in the Locations field, enter the path that contains the certificate file.
- Click Get Certificate.
- After the certificate is added to the certificate manager, click Confirm Security Exception.
- To trust the BMC Client Management Certificate Authority, click OK.
To install the SSL certificate in Safari
- Open a Safari browser.
- Navigate to the Show in Finder option.
- Select Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access.
- Double-click Keychain Access.
- From the Keychain menu, select System.
- To install the SSL certificate, open File > Import Items.
- Navigate to the location where you saved the SSL certificate file.
- Import the SSL file into the System keychain.
- Double-click on the certificate.
- Expand the Trust list and select Always Trust for all items.
