Enabling CI management
Remedyforce Configuration Management Database (CMDB) 2.0 enables you to store information about the configuration items (CIs) and assets in your environment. A CI is any component in your IT infrastructure that enables you to deliver a business service to your users (for example, business processes and LAN endpoints). Based on your requirements, you can enable or disable CI management in Remedyforce CMDB.
When CI management is enabled, out-of-the-box CI classes are available in Remedyforce CMDB. On the Remedyforce CMDB tab, users can view, create, update, and delete instances of the out-of-the-box and custom CI classes based on their access level. System administrators can create and manage CI classes, enable attribute history tracking for CI classes, and create models for CI classes. For information about the out-of-the-box CI classes, see Remedyforce-CMDB-Common-Data-Model.
The following diagram and table outline the steps that you must perform to enable and configure CI management in Remedyforce CMDB.
