Accessing the interface

BMC Release Process Management (RPM) 5.0 consists of two user interfaces:

• RPM Classic UI (formerly called Legacy UI)
• BMC Release Lifecycle Management Requester UI (now called Release Process Management - Requester UI, 5.0.03.001 onward)

You can use the RPM Classic and RLM Requester user interfaces to perform the following management tasks:

• Define your release process
• Configure the environments necessary in the stages of your release lifecycle
• Define the applications, their components, and properties for every stage of your release lifecycle
• Execute and track releases, plans, and their statuses
• Create reports

To log on and access the RPM Classic UI

Perform the following steps to access the RPM Classic UI:

1. Depending on the version of RPM you are using, type one of the following URLs into your browser:
   • version 5.0.03.004 or later https://hostName:port/webServerPath

   • version 5.0.03.003 or earlier http://hostName:port/webServerPath 

     Parameter	Description
     hostName	Web server on which the console is installed or IP address
     port	Web server port if you are not using the default HTTP port
     webServerPath	Location configured for your web server to serve the installation directory (can be omitted if the product was installed into the web server root directory) Default: brpm/

     For example, https://153.234.83.130:8080/brpm or http://serv.domain:8080/brpm

2. Enter user name and password, and then click Log in.

   
   

To log on and access the BMC Release Lifecycle Management – Requester UI

Perform the following steps to access the RLM Requester UI (now called RPM Requester UI, 5.0.03.001 onward):

1. Depending on the version of RPM you are using, type one of the following URLs into your browser:

   • version 5.0.03.004 or later https://hostName:port/webServerPath
   • version 5.0.03.003 or earlier http://hostName:port/webServerPath

   Parameter	Description
   hostName	Web server on which the console is installed or IP address
   port	Web server port if you are not using the default HTTP port
   webServerPath	Location configured for your web server to serve the installation directory (can be omitted if the product was installed into the web server root directory) Default: rlmui/

   For example, https://153.234.83.130:80/rlmui or http://serv.domain:80/rlmui. 

2. Enter user name and password, and then click Log in.
