Release Calendar report

The Release Calendar report provides a calendar view of all the release plans active in the database and the environments assigned for those release plans. This report essentially shows you data about environments per release. You can also determine the applications for which these environments are assigned under a release plan, the associated release date for the plan, and the period for which the environment is assigned for that release.

You can view the data by month (default), week, or day. You can apply filters to see data related to particular applications, environments, plans, and plan status.

This report helps you answer questions such as:

  • Which environments are being used for which release plans?
  • Which environments are assigned for which applications under that release plan?
  • What are the release dates?
  • What are the end dates for the particular environments assigned for the particular release plans?
  • Which release plans use the same environment and what are the release dates?

The following figure shows a sample Release Calendar report that provides a monthly view of the environments per release (plan), the release dates, and the applications to which these environments are assigned.

To generate a Release Calendar report

  1. On the Plans menu, click Calendars.
By default, the Release Calendar report is displayed. Alternatively, you can click Release Calendaron the right to display a monthly calendar view of the release plans and the environments in use at various stages of those release plans.
    • The colored horizontal bars denote the duration for which the environments are used. The release date (of the release plan) is marked in a different color at the end of the horizontal bar. A release date marked outside the horizontal bar indicates that the environment is assigned for a time period that ends before the actual release date.
    • The red dashed line spanning across the chart marks the current date.
    • Rest the mouse pointer across the horizontal colored bars in the chart to see the period for which the environment is assigned and the application for which the environment is assigned under that release plan.
    • Click <previous or next>to scroll across the months and see data about the environments being used for particular release plans.

      Warning

      Notes

      • You can view data for only those plans to which you have access permissions. Administrators can see data related to all the plans present in the database.
      • You can see the environments assigned for each of the release plans in this report only after you have set the start and end dates for the environments assigned at every stage of the selected plan. To add start and end dates for the environments, you must edit the plan and then click the Edit Plan Details link at the bottom of the Applications table. If you do not set the end date for a particular environment, by default the release date of the plan is used as the end date for the environment.
  2. Click Open Filters to specify a reporting time period and apply filters.
Click Clear Filter to clear all the filters that you set.
