Using status of objects
Within BMC Release Process Management (BRPM), you can control access to different components (objects) by changing the object status.This status of objects functionality is available for the following objects:
The following table describes the states available for status of objects functionality. The table also identifies the states to which each state can change. For example, objects in the Released state can change to the Pending or Retired state.
State | Description | Changes to |
---|---|---|
Draft | The Draft state is assigned automatically to all new objects. Only a user who created the object or a user with Root access permissions can access the object in the Draft state. | Pending |
Pending | All users with the appropriate roles can use objects in the Pending state. When a user uses an object with the Pending state, a warning message appears. | Draft, Released |
Released | All users with the appropriate roles can use objects in the Released state. | Pending, Retired |
Retired | All users with the appropriate roles can use objects in the Retired state. When a user uses an object with the Retired state, a warning message appears. | Released, Archived |
Archived | All users with the appropriate roles can access objects in the Archived state, but this object cannot be used in an application. | Retired |
