Viewing reports

BMC Release Process Management provides the following reports:

  • Volume — Shows the number of requests for an application, based on the process
  • Time to Complete — Shows a graphical representation of the time for all requests to be finished. The Y-axis plots the applications and the X-axis plots the average time for a request. The graph bar shows the average time required to complete all the requests.
  • Problem Count — Shows a graphical representation of the number of requests that were in the problem state for the selected application.
  • Time of Problem — Shows the duration of the problem state for requests
  • Completed — Shows the count of requests that reached the completed state

For your reports to be meaningful, BMC Release Process Management must contain applications and all the necessary associations, which includes components, environments, and so on, as well as associated requests.

The following procedure explains how to generate and view the reports.

To view reports

  1. Click the Reports tab.
  2. On the Process tab, click the link on the right that's appropriate for the report that you want :
    • Volume Report
    • Time to Complete Report
    • Problem Count Report
    • Time of Problem Report
    • Completed Report
  3. In the dialog box that appears, select the required check boxes for the Application, Environment, Process, and Release (for all except the volume report).
  4. Select the period for which you want to generate the report.
  5. Click Generate.
  6. To see all the requests for the application, click the bar or the graph that the application generates.
Warning

Note

BMC Release Process Management uses the following formula to calculate the average time for time to complete:

Average time = Sum of time to complete requests, in minutes / Time, in minutes, for all requests for that particular application

The application rounds to the nearest decimal value.
