Specifying property values for a BLPackage

You can use BMC Release Process Management to specify property values for a BLPackage in BMC Application Automation. Use the Baa create and run deploy job automation script for BMC Application Automation version 8.2.00 and map properties in BMC Release Process Management with the local properties (already defined for a BLPackage) in BMC Application Automation.

Note

The BLPackage for which you want to pass property values from BMC Release Process Management must already have local properties defined in BMC Application Automation. You can use BMC Release Process Management only to specify values for the existing properties (of the BLPackage) while using an automation script in a step.

To specify property values for a BLPackage from BMC Release Process Management

  1. Create properties in BMC Release Process Management prefixed with BAA_.
The values of the properties created with this prefix are passed as values for the local properties (for the BLPackage) in BMC Application Automation. For more information about creating properties, see Managing-properties.
  2. Navigate to the Requests tab and add a step under a particular request.
In the step, you must use the same component that you used for creating the properties. These properties are automatically added on the Properties tab in the step.
  3. In the step, perform the following tasks on the Automation tab:
    1. For Step Action, select BMC Application Automation 8.2.
    2. For Task, select the Baa create and run deploy job automation script.
    3. In Job Folder, select the job folder.
    4. In Deploy Job Name, enter the name of the BLPackage which will be deployed in the selected job folder.
    5. In Depot_object_type, select BLPackage, and in depot_object, select the BLPackage for which you want to pass property values.
  4. Save the step.
  5. Run the request under which you added the step.

BRPM updates the values for the property of the BLpackage that you created in the Job Folder in step C. The following figure shows the updated property in the BMC Application Automation console.
